Just so everyone knows... I editted Casey's note to remove the unusual formatting that carried over from Word. I did not change any content. Somewhere somehow the whole document became hyper-linked to a temp file - thank you Microsoft...

Wow, this really turned into an epic discussion. My two cents: The slower courses at Arnot, I.C. and Pyramid mall are entertaining, but SEAD is the favorite for me. I would be very disappointed to run there only once or twice per season. This coming from a newbie with all of one season under his belt. As far as the safety issue is concerned, someone can get into trouble on any course, no matter how small or slow, and I'd much rather go a few feet into the grass than find a curb or culvert. Bottom line: If you're going to compete, you assume some risk. If Bret has been the most influential member of the course design committee, then I say keep up the good work. I think the Glen Region does a stellar job. Running with a couple of other regions last year really confirmed this for Colin and myself. One more thing: maybe all those who did some grass cutting last season should get Miatas...
(sorry, I couldn't resist). |

Hello all, George M here from the land to your north. Some of you will have seen me at events in the past few years driving an EVO. I'm new to your community but hopefully can add something useful.
Y'all are hosting several events at SeAD on dates that FLR has free. I would imagine that you can expect to see a bump in attendance at what appears to already be one of your best attended sites. As much as possible be prepared for greater attendance when considering course designs. There were a few safety concerns expressed in this thread. It is always appropriate to be aware of safety issues. While there is generally lots of runoff room at SeAD, there are also lots of things that can be hit there lurking in the grass. I look forward to running a few events with y'all this year! George M |

Fantastic news! We've been working on a large event plan (initiated by Bret) that will hopefully take some of the speedbumps out of our largely attended SeAD events. We're preparing!! And I think everyone will be happy!!! |

Good luck with that. We have the first Seneca event. So I would assume we will have large numbers from FLR and CNY. I think we are the only event that weekend.
