I've never seen it mentioned, is there any rule dictating what to wear while racing? Obviously an approved helmet, but are shorts allowed or does one have to wear long pants? I know at the Beaver Springs drag strip long pants are a requirement. Just curious.

Just dress appropriately for the weather. If it's hot out, we'd rather you wear shorts and not get heat stroke than to wear long pants, etc.
I think the rules only dictate that you wear closed toe shoes (+ obligatory helmet). Karts also have extra stipulations (long pants, long sleeves, gloves, all recommended to be abrasion-proof), but for cars it's pretty wide open. I've seen it discussed that we should add rules to require some sort of shirt and shorts as a minimum, but I guess for now you're *legal* to race in your underwear - then again, for some of us the safety stewards might have to step in to prevent anyone getting blinded.
